I’ve never been one to pass on a spa day. When the lovely people of Tanamera Tropical Spa invited me over to get pampered over the weekend, how could I say no?

I visited the Tanamera Tropical Spa in SS15, which I later learnt , was their very first outlet. It was not too hard to find as they had a large signage.

It is facing the main road, opposite of SS14. The outlet is right above Unipharm Pharmacy.

I was greeted by the very warm staff of Tanamera and was asked to enjoy a cup of tea while they introduced me to the treatment I would be receiving that day.





I was getting a treatment that was part of their 5 elements packages.The 5 elements package represent all the elements of the Earth - Earth, Wind, Water, Fire and Air. It is an exclusive Malaysian traditional treatment that uses 100% natural ingredients such as indigenous flowers and herbs. 





The staff of Tanamera chose the "Ayer Treatment" for me which compromised of my choice of body massage and a  Tanamera  Himalayan Rock Salt Scrub or Organic Brown Sugar Scrub. It goes for RM 150.

The people at Tanamera were kind and patient in answering all the questions I had about my treatment as well as guiding me through the steps of it. They introduced me to the type of Body Scrubs they had.
















I was recommended to try the Himalayan Rock Salt Scrub as it would exfoliate, cleanse, regenerate and make my skin firm. From what I heard, this particular salt scrub is also the crowd favourite at the Tanamera Tropical Spa.

Tanamera is proud to be the first and perhaps the only brand from Malaysia to use natural preservative complex. All products they use in the Tanamera Tropical Spa are also sold in stores nationwide, so you could have your own spa day at home.

They are made out of high quality ingredients from all over the world which consist mostly of plant extracts and biodegradable materials making it not only good for our skin, but for the environment as well.

After choosing my bath salt, I was introduced to the different oils that Tanamera uses during their massages.




All the oils smelt great. If i could, I would have asked for each section of my body to be massaged with a different oil (haha so kiasu)

Encik Mohamad Faisal, the Managing Director of Tanamera mentioned that

Now when I look back, I think Tanamera is the Body Shop of Spas. So clean, so green, and it makes its' customers the top priority without leaving any negative footprints behind to the ecosystem.

I was then guided to my room. It was a cozy room equipped with 2 beds, a shower, a bathtub and the other usual spa room amenities.






The masseur gave me some alone time to get comfortable in the room before my massage started. I changed into my sarong (which was the first time I ever wore one). I understand now why my grandma always wears sarongs around the house. It's so comfortable!

My massage lasted for an hour. It was the most relaxing moment of my week. The masseur listened to my preferences very attentively and was gentle at areas where I was sensitive.  I don't know how else to explain how good my massage felt but it was to the point where I fell asleep midway. I felt like my body was ready to take on the world right after the massage ended.





After that, I was prepped for the body scrub. This was my first ever full body scrub so I had no idea what to expect. To be honest, it was rather uncomfortable. Like the name would suggest, a body scrub encompasses of a very serious, no joke, scrub down.

And you kinda just lie there while a stranger scrubs you down which is rather awkward for both parties. The scrub process lasted for an hour. After that, I took a shower and was pleasantly surprised to be provided with Tanamera's products to try.



Not only did they smell amazing, but they also left a very nice after feeling. Their shampoo lathered really easily even though I only applied a little. The conditioner spread my tangled hair evenly with not much effort. And the body soap smelt so nice! It made me feel like I was getting zen-er and zen-er while spreading it over my body.

Here's the thing. As I slowly washed of all the body scrub from my body, I slowly realised something has changed. I was being rebirth into my new skin. Okay, drama a bit la. But it seriously felt that way. My skin was smooth like tau fu fah.




Even though the process was not the best, I have to say it was really worth it.
Many know that I am not the kind of girl that would walk the extra mile to take care of my skin. I don't even put on lotion after I get out of the shower. However, even many weeks after my scrub with Tanamera, I was still getting complements about how smooth and soft my skin is . Sumpah.

That was the end to my very lovely time with Tanamera. Super zen!

I wanted to check out their range of commercial products because I was really blown away by how calm everything made me feel. I don't feel calm very often because I'm wired to always be doing something.

I found out that Tanamera also sells lovely pre-packed gift boxes and Mini Spa / wellness kits for you to enjoy or gift to your loved ones.
May this be a not so subtle hint to anyone who wants to get me a gift in the future.
