Read about it here if you need a refresh in your memory. So I stumbled upon a write up in Tumblr. Monkey Saves Puppy from Explosion Here is a bizarre bit of news coming out of the pipeline explosion in Nanjing, China that killed 13 people and injured 300, - it is this remarkable photo of monkey grabbing a puppy dog and running away from the explosion and fire. On my last trip to Thailand, the family had the opportunity of visiting the Long Neck Tribe. True to it's name, the Long Neck Tribe is famous for their female villagers who stretch their necks to astounding heights for the sake of beauty My 1st visit to this tribe was about 5 years ago where I got to experience the tribes' daily life. (Harvesting, Cooking meals, Schooling) Till this day, mom would joke about how she gave the tribe woman money to buy food only to be astonished when they stuck the coins on their clothes as decoration instead. You see, they didn't see any need for the money as they already had everything they wanted. And well, even if they had the cash, it wasn't like there was a nearby shopping mall they could go to. What was once a traditional village has now been turned into a rather commercialized place. As we walked closer in, we realized that we entered a village shopping mall. Literally. uncle Ivan bargaining with a kid :) Anyhow, it was still an honor to be able to witness the Long Neck Tribe before they well.. got extinct. Because not all the ladies believe in this tradition anymore, others opt for other ways to portray beauty. As we headed of to leave, a group of kids started following us. Seeing that we were being followed all the way out of the village; right to the steps of the car , I thought the least I could do was give them some candy I returned with Rocky's (feeling like I was the best example of Mother Teresa) There was this boy ,the last person I gave the packet of Rocky too. He looks at me. Looks at Rocky. Looks back at me. Changes his facial expression. And then pushes it away. HOW CAN ANYONE SAY NO TO ROCKY?!?!?! On a more serious note , here is a boy, from a tribe village, who obviously hasn't been out of the village, who is yet to understand the value of money, but is still trained to beg for it. What has the world became of that a 6 year old tribe kid says no to candy and would rather have a coin instead? The trip to the Long Neck Tribe was definitely an eye opening experience. One that will remain in my prayers. Love,

I mean, so does everyone else. But what I want, is to function in a way that edifies me and the people around me. Be it a school teacher, be it an event planner, be it a mom, or be it whatever I turn out to be, I want to edify the people around me. I want to know that I , somehow or rather, am playing my responsibility as a person. I'm not talking in the context of the bible here, or any other religion. I'm talking about us, humans. As people, we can't just simply exist. Sometimes we play our roles as humans like its a chore. We walk around dragging our souls behind us like a shadow. I think that's the most naive thing anyone can do. We each have to play our own part in this world. No I don't mean recycling or hugging trees (though I won't mind). I want to magnify one thing here. Just one thing that can change everything. And it's one of the easiest things to do, Love your Life Not your moms, not you dads, not your bestfriends, that comes later. Love YOUR life. Learn to appreciate your life. Learn to be thankful of what you can do and what you have. Start to respect your life , you body & your thoughts. It's really simple. Just love your life. I hope this post has edified you as much as it edified me when I was reading it again (haha)

I'm taking 3 subjects. Because it's only a 7 week sem, I have 4 reoccurring classes every week. So every time the same lecturer comes in, I'm like Anyway I've been procrastinating this post for far too long. Why? Cause we felt like it. Carrot (yes, that's his name. Don't make fun of him, rabbits have feelings too) has been a great rabbit ever since. But just a week ago, Carrot ran away. Don't ask me how. She's livin-da-di-la-loca So this post is dedicated to Carrot. Wherever you are now, I do hope it's a happier place. And if you're reading this and you stole my rabbit, GIVE HIM BACK you big ol' meanny! Love, Sabrina Labels: me, the dog, the sister 2 lovely comments ✿

Note of Caution: The post ahead is going to revolve around the blogger quite a lot. After 14 years of being MIA, I finally returned to a place I once called home for a good 1 and a half years. It felt so good to be welcomed by the same bellboy, who is now in charge of the front office (bravo!). He used to wait with me for Kindergarten (I car-pooled). In fact, I waited with him for the car at this exact spot! The Hotel has changed much after 14 years. The lobby is way classier now than it was before. It has a gigantic Christmas tree that was once a stage for the band to play during high-tea. The ballroom where I celebrated my 5th birthday is now a jewelery stall. at least now I can say "I celebrated my birthday at a jewelery store, What about you?" *lan si face* There childrens pool that I once pooped in (as a kid, I promise) causing dad to get a good sounding from his boss has now been joined with the adult pool to make an even bigger pool! Angelini, the Italian F&B outlet went through a massive renovation and has now transformed to some-sort of a fine dinning attraction. There were still a couple of things that remained unchanged. The fountain that I conveniently washed my hands in as a child The escalators that I used in the opposite direction until I fell one day and cried a river (to the delight of the hotel staff) The towel storage thing that I thought was a swing and tried to climb in (note: sounding by dad's boss round 2) And not to forget the amazing greenery that surrounded the hotel. I once plucked a whole flower pot full of leaves to "feed the fishes" There were many memories shared here. It felt so warm to be back.Definitely one of the highlights of our Thailand adventure! Isn't it great how something as simple as a building can bring you back so much memories? Love,
