put a pause to post on Y.E.S for a bit, cause I'm in THAILAND!!!! have been here for the past 11 hours and so far so good this was a rather last minute trip. Dad had some clients coming down to Thailand for the 1st time and needed a family to host them and ever helpful dad volunteered.ugh i quote Nigel "buy lots of stuff there okay, it's cheaper over there!!" that's my boy so anyway, thank God, there was this HUGE coincidence that on the same duration that we're in Thailand, dad was called to overlook and survey a new hotel , so *free accommodations!*. Really BIG thanks to God cause if not, we'll be spending ALOT of cash on the hotel. God works in crazy ways, amen? so anyway, since dad is doing a review on the hotel, i feel it would only be fair if Ms. Chan had her say too. So here goes... I introduce you to Dream Hotel. Yeah so maybe the name is a little china-apek la, but it's Thailand!!!. Dream Hotel is a boutique hotel with more than average facilities. Haven't been given a star ratting yet because it's only 2 years old. If i could rate it, i would say 4 star. The entrance to the lobby *think las Vegas* the entrance to the floor. I felt very tall in this hotel because of the super low ceilings. Dream hotel's team could clearly be seen- dreamy and magical1st would be the delux suite. mom and dad got this room. Somehow there's this rule that parents always get the better rooms. The rule has been around for ages. Go check the parenting books The kitchen- i really doubt any real cooking could be done there. All it had was a coffee machine (drip- That's good) and a sink. I mean, AND YOU CALL THAT A KITCHEN?? but not all suites that i've been to provided "kitchens" so, ok la, not bad My fav part of the suite, the 3-sitter jacuzzi.OMG. Its the smallest and cutest jacuzzi I've ever seen. Was suppose to use it on the 1st night but Rachel beat me to it. OMG 3 sitter weh, but then, why would you want 3 ppl? 2 i understand la but 3??????? omg i miss nigel The master bedroom is Okay-la. Expect-able. Like nothing really shouted *LOOK AT ME!* the colours were pleasant. Carpeted flooring. The carpets looked new the dining hall is rather nice. Very small but yet cozy. Me and Rachel sat there for hours debating on who got the last piece of apple crumble. See the 3 vases in the corner? *GENIUS* now for the ugliesteeewydisgusting part of the room (OMYGAWD YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS).Out of no where is......... Next is my room, a normal room with king size bed (they have one with 2 single beds too). So the 1st looks of my room. A very trendy room i might add. Was put into room 811 what 1st caught my eye in the room was the chandelier. Rather modern, yet classy. Like there's a word for it, Kat vondu-ish, Marlyn Manson's ex-wife ish. the bed was nice. I like the colour and the design. Very British India. The pillows were horrid though. Very Flatty Guest are provided with "light refreshments" every evening, which is REALLY YUMMY was going through the reference book provided by the hotel. There would be random page popping out random questions to you half way through the book. For example, The stationary provided followed the hotel's "magical" theme. I exceptionally loved the postcards provided. There was a certain touch on fetch-ness in them. Especially the ones bellow the most disappointing part of my room HAD to be the bathroom. It was rather ordinary , think 2 star hotel with a touch of modern-nazization. The normal toiletry's like a toothbrush and Emery boards weren't provided. But there was a glass weighing machine which i got hooked onto every 10 minutes. the most interesting thing about the room is that certain parts of the ceiling is made out of mirror. Which is super cool cause you look up, and you see you!! If only Nigel was there =) other pics of what I've been up to today~ ice cream here is only like 50 cents! and they are like wall's ice cream- ada class one mom was shopping for shoes and me and the sister was soo bored so we played the game "find for the ugliest shoe"in the shop inspired by Xua Xue. Rachel the poser The winning shoe-ugly or what! Thai Graffiti LIVE life LAUGH harder LOVE more btw: I got my fedora!!! *WOHOO* Sabrina. C
For the past 5 days, I wake up feeling extremely thankful for -a bed -lunch awaiting me downstairs -a running tap -knowing that i DON'T need to flush the toilet 3 times just to get everything down -a running shower -with water flowing CONSISTENTLY -knowing that i wont have to walk 09586956564608 flights of stairs just to get down -air con the comforts of home in all. I've got to say, as weird as it is, the thing that hit me real hard throughout YES wasn't what was being taught (not that nothing was being absorbed into the nugget) but it was more of how lucky I am to have the comforts of home back in Ipoh. I went to YES thinking "aiya, 2 weeks only - won't miss the family one" looking at the fact that I've been on camps that carried on for 3 weeks. At other camps you have back to back activities. At YES, its different. You spend alot of time looking back and pondering on life. On the 1st weekend, i did something i NEVER thought i would do. I took out the cell ,fought all ego in me and typed " Hi Mom" (which by the way ,is by far the shallowest text ever sent by me) So Mom instantly called back. The moment i heard her voice i broke into tears which is really weird cause I don't cry! I REALLY REALLY MISSED HOME HUGE TIME. When I came back home, terus masuk tandas mandi. I turned on the shower and was put in awe for a second at the amount of water coming out. "OMG,WATER FINALY!!!" THANK GOD FOR MY SHOWER. To keep things short, Lesson 1# learnt at camp: APPRECIATE HOME AND FAMILY MORE since we're on the topic on home, and since sleeping is something you do at home. (i'm really going no where here). Pictures of YES tagged with "SLEEP" enjoy~ Pranks of the last night-It's suppose to be a tradition that the BCM and YES students will have a blast pranking each other on the last night. I have to say, this year it was preety dissappointing. me and Andrea was like "all your gonna do is wax his legs?!?!?!" Anyways. we, YESers had some fun of our own.Oh, and our room got ramsacked BIG TIME.My room, (take note : My post of which "I LIVE LIKE AN IMMIGRANT was bolded")Let me introduce you to Nigel, he sleeps anywhere and EVERYWHERE =)Random "sleep" pictures.okay, so Rufus wasn't exactly sleeping, but he was in the position. Ms. Andrea Kong"WAAAAAAOOOOOOOGGGGGGHHHHH" sexy sam =) We stayed up real late on the last night. Most of us we're too tired to go back into our own rooms by the end of the day so...and last but not least ps: thank you to all the people i have stolen pics from. To list a few, Tee Juan, Rufus, Charlene. Thank You. LIVE life LAUGH harder LOVE more Sabrina. C |
