Unlike the extreme long term breaks overseas, we can't even have a countdown to when school starts because before we know it, school has already started. It would be like ok.. school start in 8 days... *blinks* your ass is back in school so, my hols have been totaly wasted on a student's point of view. Not much studying-unless u count going for tuition and watching the discovery channel as studying. A brief higlight of how i spent my hols:- 1. Music Of The Night This happened on the very 1stnight of holidays acctually. A great way of welcoming the pethetic 1 week holiday. This was my 1st time to such a music event. Never thought of it as my cup of tea. Heck- i went anyways.Went with great company. Had a great time. There were 2 sets. The 1st set was really a bore for me. Not much of a classical person. *but hey, i'm classy ok* The 2nd set on the other hand was beautiful. There was this Jazz song they played which just made me feel like swinging my head to the rhytmn- I would if it wasnt a formal event. Owh did i forget to mention that? IT WAS A FREAKIN FORMAL EVENT. Everyone looked stunning, Deepa and Sarah wore a kebaya, looked real good. I love formal events. I love dressing up for no reason in particular. I felt like Barbie of the Swan Lake, don't ask me why, i just did lah. Maybe it was beacause of my ivory soft dress, but then again, i don't see anything in common with me and Barbie. Anyway, back to the event, the musicians were great, the music was bewitching. Had a great time overal. I met Mrs Teng. She tought i was in college. I felt like going "I'm one of your students haggard Lady!". 2. Youth Youth meetings. Not really a "highlight" after all, i attend it everyweek. But this week, the sermom was a little different. Ps Elijah had this great idea where as he preached, the youth leaders would act out his sermon. In that way. it would not be that booring, and we could understand the message better. It was a great sermon. About bringing yourself. About how strong God has made you. Theres this thing that Elijah said that really stuck in my head, You might be pushed from every side, but nothing can ever crush you. It was a great sermon. Credits to everyone involved. 3. Church 4.Peace 5.Clear Water ya lah.. i noe its stupid to be blogging about this. But i do enjoy it everytime i'm there. No matter how overpriced or unmaintained it is, there's still something about that place which makes you feel great. And again, went with great company. Nothing beats spending time with great company. No wait, Jia Yao was there *snickers* That guy hates me lah. Was suppose to go kayaking but the kayak ppl werent there so we went swimming instead. Gary *not that he was the eldest among us* came up with excelent games ie: "Okay,.. we see who can stay longest underwater OKKAAAY??? very seirous ah.." lol.. great times =) 6. Tea party will blog bout penang later.. There freakin skul 2mr and i dun wanna go. BAH! i think i'll jst burn the whole school down.. OUT!
Jst finished dinner at the coffe house I ate like 2 bowls of soup, one plate stacked with prawns, too many sushi and i dont know how many beef slices. Gawd i feel fat, its like i cant even move without feeling the pain *ok so my jeans are tight* Guilt GUILT GUILT shoud not have ate so much will be here tilll sunday morning, mom wants to be back in Ipoh on time for second service at church which means will be leaving at like 8?? i cant wait for breakfast 2mr, had breakfast in cofee bean today and the scrambled egss sucked BIG TIME, they were soo freakin dry, you could practically start a fire with it. So yeah, wet scrambled eggs are part of my "to do's" for 2mr. Owh going to the big shopping mall, no idea what you call it. I wanna get good jeans. seriously. my jeans suck.. my budget this time is up to the wall, but this jeans should be really really good- to last me till college. So i guess its jeans shopping tommorow I really should be calling Fee, But i really don't want to, i've only got 2 days here, unless she meets up with me in the hotel , then that would be diff cause i wont need to move my sorry ass*Fee, pls read this* Will be missing youth, Elijah said there was going to be some kind of special speaker. Guess i'll find out who when i get back Owh,jst know when we were checking in, another group of malay guys were checking in to. And at first i was like " EEELEH.. indons can afford this place???" not that i have nything agaisnt them.. Then they started unloading their van.. AND THERE WERE GUITARS and DRUMS and KEYS.. so i went to Keppoh la and asked this super nice receptionist who in the world they were and the receptionist slambe only went "Owh, some malay band" and this guy with a super hot orange guitar smiled at me.. so i smilled back.. then he came up to talk to me and he was like "You ni Melayu ke Cina?" I tell you, damn potong steam la that guy. Sabrina's pethetic story of talking with a local band member. Drastic wei so i guess thats all about my trip in Penang so far, will blog soon if i get to bord of the place The Good Life =) XOXO Sabs XOXO 0 lovely comments ✿
"Aiyo, die lah!,"I told myself. so the trip down to Kl was peacefull. Very minimal talk between the 2 teams. Although if you looked at it in another way, we were the ONLY TEAMS from ipoh, so we shud have been giving each at least sum aknowledgement. we were put into a 3 star hotel-Hotel Sri Petaling. Parts of it were still under renovation so i guess the Cheer 2008 sponsors got it cheap. The hotel was not as bad as i thought it would. Proper facilities, cleam bedsheets, fucntioning tv, good air con.. oh and they had BACONS and scarmbelled eggs for breakfast. DELICIOUS! To say that we were treated like royalty would be exaggeration. to say we werent bothered bout would be mean. the first day there was very exciting. Imagine, 6 all girl cheer squads being put under the same hotel. AMAZING! you felt "cheer-ish" wherever you went. You could see pom poms, banners, mini sirts everywhere. It felt like cheer heaven.Everyone slept cheer, ate cheer, thought cheer.. a trully great time. After getting everyone settled. We had our first practice- at the corridor. It was surely an experience to be remembered for most of us. I had the team briefing outside some guys room. And the guys were like "Eh, lu buat apa lah" through the door. Lunch was provided in the stadium. They gave us six [6] [ENAM] bottles of Milo on the first day. And thats like ALOT! Dinner is in one of the banquet rooms in the hotel. The food is good lah. Much better than the ordinary catering you get back in Ipoh.I rememeber on the last night, they served us apple crumble for Dessert. Me and Clara smuggled so many slices in our bags for supper. SHHHHH! The first day of competition started with a really good breakfast. Most of our time in Kl revoled around eating and eating and eating! The food was great. Sze Mei ate crazy much. The whole team woke up at around 4 to get make-up and hair done. All 16 girls crammed in on room with horrid lighting. Was not exactly the best event of the trip. Soon all 6 teams were shoved into their buses and brought to Bukit Jalil. The enviroment was crazy. 43 cheerleading teams in one stadium. The non stop screams and cheer could be heard throughout the competition. Just being in the stadium gave you an adrenaline rush. All the teams performed great. Yes, all 43-okay maybe not ALL.. thee was this team that had girls that looked crazy underaged who did extreme Pole dancing. You should have seen the judges reactions man. It was sooo wrong. I bet they were only in like form 1 or sumthing.. and the were HUMPING!! yeah.. HUMPING!!! There were people being trown to the air every minute. People rolling and cartwheeling and doing all sort of stunts. It was AWESOMEGot to meet Ms GWen, never knew she was a cheerleader, the last time i saw her, she was still a lil kid. Owhs well, time's past, and she does back flips. Great routine from her team. The teams from semi-finals were to prform last. Which was like number 37 onwards. By the time we were goin to perform, we hilang steam already. Seriously, i mean to be the 41st team to perform is not really one of God's gifts. But i guess it was still fun, being able to see all the other THIRTY SEVEN teams perform. We were patient, very patient . Taking pictures to pass time. And we also had PLENNTYFULL of time to practice. Wei Yern's family came all the way from Ipoh to give the team suport, was super nice of them. Her sis is ADORABLE! Shes only like 4 and she can do every jump there is.Our performance on the first day was good. Quite clean. Was pleased with it.we just really wanted to get back to the hotel because we were stuck in our SUPER TIGHT uniform for over 10 hours.Got some feedbacks from the judges which hinted to us to change our routine. i was thinking "oh gawd, change the routine in one day??" So that night, after dinner, I begged the hotel staff to let us use the banquet rooms for practice, after all the floor's carpeted *grins* they were super nice and even offered to clear the place for us. The practice was better than i expected. Could say that it was the happiest and most enjoyable practices ever. *note that this IS NOT part of our routine Day two started preety bad. Many of my cheerleaders were sick. I lost my voice due to screaming my head of the day before. But it did not dampen the teams spirits. The but on a brave face and powdered up their eyebags and they were ready to go. The second day of competition was much "warmer". As in you didnt feel as ecited as they 1st day, but u felt like you fit in. Aiya you should understand lah. This time were were like team number 3 to perform- which gave us more reasons to put a smile on our faces. Some last minute practices and sharpening, and we were ready to go. Looking that this was the last time that half of the team would be performing, because they were seniors, I told them that the aim for out last routine was to have fun. And i have to say that we really did. Okay the routine wasnt top notch, but we had loads of fun! and i don't think it would ever be forgotten by any of usSo fun we had at our performance, and fun we had, after the performance. The rest of the day was just rest for most of us. Mandy fell asleep sitting. every chair in the staidum was filled that day. The crowd was hyper. It felt super good just to be taking part in such madness. The supporting teams were crazy, dressed in their school colours making a racket. And for all those who thinks that cheerleading is for sisi's this years stunners all-boys surely proved you wrong. They were great and HOT! like super hot!! If there was a title for hottest guy team. it would have gone to them hands down The trip was Unforgetable The Good Life =) XOXO Sabs XOXO
