It all started with a pretty invitation.
There are many reasons why I love my BFF, Sue Sien. One of the more major reasons is because she gets me invited to events like this (ahahhaha I kid). I also love her because she has an amazing camera which is where most of the pictures from this post came from. (Fail friend award goes to me).
We are best friends, really.
The Benefit Private party was held at the Benefit boutique in Sephora, Starhill Gallery. There was already a handful of people there by the time that Sue and I arrived.
Look at all the pretty Benefit Cosmetic products!
The private party was meant for friends and family of Benefit Cosmetics Malaysia.
When they said it was a private party I thought ' Say only private party' but looking at how close knit the party was, I have to say that I was really thankful to be part of the guest list that day.
Food and Champagne! YEEEESSSSS.
In addition to getting to know the people behind the brand, we also got to experience Benefit Cosmetics' products and services firsthand. While Sue got her make up done, I decided to opt for their eye brow waxing services.
I realise that I put out my tongue a bit too much in pictures.
The make up kiosks set up for all the guest to get glam-ed up.
Look at how cute this packaging it! It's actually a makeup kit.
This was my first time waxing anything out. And there is a reason why I have been waiting this long - I have an extremely low tolerance to pain. And the idea of yanking a handful of tiny hair from my body at one go is terrifying!
If not obvious enough, I started to get really excited.
"Beautification in process".
I mean, how cute is this bib?!?
All these while, my hair extracting methods has been narrowed down to shaving. I don't even pluck my own eyebrows. That's how much of a chicken I am.
Still excited...
And then it dawned upon me that this could be a really painful experience.
I was put in the very tender hands of Kay Kay, an eyebrow expert who works for Benefit. If you're ever going to Benefit to clean up your eyebrows, you should definitely ask for her at the Starhill outlet. Looking at how nervous I was, she was super nice, explaining to me each step that I was going to go through.
The "I'm actually really scared right now but I don't want to show it" face.
All ready!
The first thing Kay Kay did was to try the hot wax on my hands to show me that it really wasn't as painful as I imagined it to be.
(Actually it was quiet painful lor)
She then drew on my eyebrows to show me what they would look like after she waxed them.
The entire time this was going on, Sue thought that it was hilarious that I was being so scared.
Kay Kay then put the hot wax on.
At first it was really hot. Maybe because I wasn't expecting it. But as she kept on putting it on, it didn't seem that hot anymore.
And then the time came! She put the wax strips on me and well, yeah, pulled it off along with a lump full of hair. Kay Kay moved really quickly. She said the faster she moved, the less painful it would be.
I'm not gonna lie and say that it was painless. I think it was fairly painful. The were some parts that didn't hurt at all (like the unibrow area). But at parts where the skin is thinner and more sensitive (like near the eye lids), it really hurt!
Lucky there was a lot of people at the boutique so I shy to scream. If I was alone I think I would have berdrama already.
Kay Kay was so patient with me. She kept on going "Okay, finishing already. Finishing...".
Here she is waiting for me to take pictures.
Okay, quiet disgusting I know, but this is the by-product.
Kay Kay then cleaned up my brows and filled them in with Benefit products.
*Not pictured is Kay Kay tweezing out the stubborn hairs. Wah pain like shit that one. But Kay Kay has super fast hands.
When I saw the after product of my eyebrows, I have to say, this was the cleanest by brows has ever been. Even after shaving, my brows has never looked this neat.
And according to Kay Kay, they last for an entire month, which is way longer than shaving. Usually my eyebrows will start getting messy just a week after waxing.
You too can get your eyebrows waxed for RM53 at Benefit Boutiques.
Thanks for having us Benefit Cosmetics Malaysia.
I'm so glad share this first time experience with you!
By the way, like my hair style for the event?
You can get it too and Number 76 hair salon in Publika.
Mine was done by the stylist, Hikky but I believe that everyone there is qualified to do braiding like this.

** Special Promo code for anyone looking at trying KFit at the end of this post. Promo Code can be used for KFit Worldwide If you follow me on my my social media channels, you would have seen me posting about my new favourite thing, KFit! (if not, you can follow me here on Insta and here on Facebook) (shameless self advertising)
Many of my friends have been asking be about what KFit is? How it works? and if it is any good.
So I thought I'd make a blog post to have all your questions answered.
1. What is KFit?
Think of KFit as your gym / yoga class / any other class membership, only that it gives you access to hundreds of gyms and classes. You are not bound to just one gym or one fitness centre. Instead, you get access to every class that is partnered with the program.
Myt time doing Hot Yoga at Hot.Yo studio is always awesome!!
2. How does KFit work?
You know how some centres/ gyms have days when their classes aren't full? For example, they have a Muay Thai teacher coming in, but only has 2 students? KFit becomes partners with them and helps them fill up these classes. They collect all these classes from all these vendors and opens it to all KFit members, which is why there is an array of activities to choose from.
See all the "K" pins? These are all the KFit vendors that you can choose from when you become a KFit-ter!
3. What classes / activities can I do via KFiT?
So many! There is an endless list of activities that KFit provides. Some of my favourites are:
This was me and the group at a recent Zumba class.
Note the aunty in white standing in front of me. She is the asian embodiment of Red from OITNB.
The classes are held EVERYWHERE! You can find KFit partners wherever you are. What makes things even easier is the KFit app that uses GPS to track where you are and then shows you the nearest KFit partners to you.
For example. this is a map of all the KFit partners in Kota Damansara.
They range from gyms, yoga educators, MMA centres and even dance classes.
5. Are these classes even legit? Are they proper fitness educators?
You can be rest assured that all KFit partners are trained professionals. In fact, I'm sure you have heard of some of their partners.
6. How many classes can I attend with my KFit membership?
You can attend as many classes as you want. However, sometimes the vendors sets a limit per month of how many times you can visit an outlet. For example, Yoga centre A might only allow you to go for 4 classes a month, but that does not stop you from visiting Yoga centre B, C, D and more!
7. It is the middle of the month now. Can I still join KFit?
Yes of course, no matter when you start your membership, it goes on for a month. That means that if you started on the 23rd of March, your membership will go on until the 23rd of April.
8. Once I get my KFit membership, how do I start booking classes?
You can either use the KFit website here or the KFit app to book / cancel / manage your classes.
I would recommend that you download the KFit app because it is so much more convenient.
It is pretty straight forward, really.
You can search for your classes in 3 ways.
The first being through categories of activities:
The second way to find for activities is by days (Today, tomorrow, the day after, etc)
And the last way of finding for classes is based on your GPS, which is where the app tracks where you are and lets you know which classes are near by.
If you are not sure about a class, you can click on it to read other KFit-ters reviews of it, or to find out more about the class.
Once you have reserved a class, just arrive 15 minutes before class starts.
The classes you have booked will appear in your upcoming reservations.
9. How soon / late can I reserve a KFit class?
All activities need to be reserved at least an hour in advance.
You can book classes from a week away.
Joining a group of students for a Muay Thai class that I reserved just a couple of hours before.
10. What happens if I can't make it for a reserved class?
You can cancel if you were to be unable to make it. Each activity would have different time for cancellations. Some vendors need to be informed 2 hours before a class while others need an entire day.
To cancel a class, just head back to the KFit app / Website.
11. How much does a KFit membership cost?
I've got a special promo code for you that will give you a huge discount when you try out KFit for the first time.
Just use the code "SABRINACHAN" when you sign up for your KFit account for the discount.
The promo code "SABRINACHAN" will entitle you for a price of :
Malaysia : RM 69 (instead of RM 99)
Singapore : $69 (instead of $99)
Australia: AUD49 (instead of AUD 69)

12. Any other questions that I have missed out?
So I'll see you at KFit then!
Do let me know once you have joined and we can go for classes together :)
