This is a really SUPER delayed post that I've been meaning to write for months now. I moved into my new place in April (yes, I'm aware that it is September now) and wanted to share some parts of it with all of you. My new place is a beautiful 1,085 sq fully furnished apartment close to the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms , an open kitchen , dining and living area and a laundry room. I was really lucky to find it because I got a really good deal with rent and it was a way better improvement from my old place. My favorite thing about it is the view I get every night! Because of obvious security and privacy reasons, I can't tell you the location of the apartment or show you every part of the place. This is also in respect to my housemates who share the space with me. But what I can show you freely is my room! So I love my room and everything but a couple of concerns came up:
Then I was introduced to Curtains Place. They do curtains for the famous names in Malaysia such as Amber Chia and Ning Baizura.
Yes, Amber Chia has a full blown picture of herself in her living room.
If I looked that good, I would do the same.

Seeing their impressive clientele , it surely tickled my interest but it also made me a little skeptical. I mean, all the curtains looked so posh and elegant but most importantly, EXPENSIVE. And I don't think it would fit with a young adults salary like mine.
No money problems.
Mr Jason, the director of Curtains Place, reassured me telling me that Curtains Place had something for everyone or any budget. He invited me to their showroom in Kota Damansara for a visit. The showroom itself blew me away. I was expecting to just see heaps and heaps of curtains and fabric everywhere. Instead , Curtains Place managed to show how their curtains would look like in a home, together with furniture , carpets , deco and everything.
Take all my money and just go!
There's literally something for everyone in the Curtains Place showroom.
So with that all said and everything looking nice the question was still "Is any of this for me?". I mean everything was pleasing to my eyes but I know my apartment didn't have such high ceilings, and I definitely did not have such atas looking furniture. So what's the point of having such classy curtains if my space does not look equally as classy? That is when they showed me the before and after pictures of some of their clients (They have a whole photo album of them). It turns out that curtains alone could change the entire feel of the room. You don't even need to buy luxurious furniture to match it if you pick the right curtains.

I was sold. I was getting curtains for the very first time in my life. I also felt very grown up. The next thing to do was to choose my fabric, colors and style. I was introduced to an ambassador of Curtains Place when I entered the showroom. She guided me through the entire process of choosing my curtains and made sure I was comfortable.
All the patterns and colors to choose from!
And look at all the ways you can accessorize your curtains. So many choices!
We decided on two layers. The first would be an airy white curtain that was light and easy for sunlight to pass through and the other would be a heavy blackout curtain that would stop any light from coming into the room. At first I choose a really safe earth color because I was afraid that colored curtains would stand out too much and make my already small room look cluttered. Overhearing this,Mr Jason advised me to rethink my choice. He told me that colored curtains could really change the feel of entire room. Seeing that he is the expert, I took his advice and decided on pastel blue curtains.
The fabrics that I chose in the end
With that they chose the most fuss free fabrics that needed little to no maintenance for me. Then came the day for the installation. I was so excited. I was told that simple small changes like curtains could bring big changes to a room. The actual installation didn't take long. They added extra railings for my curtains and set everything up for me. Everything took less than an hour - they worked so fast!
And the result? HOMAIGOWD
Doesn't the curtains just look so princessy? Dream come true!
Such a big difference from my curtain-less room!
The best part is that the Curtains Place installers even cleaned up before they left! They vacuumed my floor and everything so it was as clean (or cleaner) than when they first installed it.
Okay you might say, I edited my photos to make it look better, Nah, give you unedited photo!
Still looks just as good!
I mean, I never knew that I needed curtains before this, but now that I have them, I'm never turning back.
Look at the pretty pleats!
Both fabrics has proven to be phenomenal! The first see through layer gives my room such an airy feel. While the second fabric just blocks out all sun! I've been able to sleep late on the weekend so much more easier.
The curtains even go well with me bedding and rugs!
Let's just say that the conclusion of this is that you may not think that you need curtains, but believe me, you do. And when you decide to. Curtains Place is where to get them.
