Hey all! Today I will be bring you all behind the scenes with me for my commercial shoot for Dove hair. The commercial has already been aired. You can see it below. It was so hard to keep silent while waiting for it to air. Now that it is out , I can share my experience with you guys. I actually shot a couple of videos for Dove but only one has been aired. Because of that, I will only be able to share a part of the behind the scenes with you. As more of the videos are out, I'll share the rest of them. This actually wont be much of a blog post, but rather a collection of BTS photos. There isn't really much to talk about this particular commercial because it was all shot in one location and within a time frame of a couple of hours.
I had to redye by hair black for this shoot because my previous hair color was uneven. Sometimes clients need their talents to have specific aesthetic features for a project. The cost of it is beared by the clients.
Another thing I had to do in preparation for this shoot was to take a half day off work and meet with Dove's hairstylist. They wanted to try out different hairstyles on me to check which best suit their videos.
Shoot day. This was in between hair and makeup. Drink EVERYTHING with a straw or you mess up your lipstick.
Breakfast on set - McDonalds is the BEST!
The view form where I was sitting. Notice how the Bobbi Brown bottle on the right corner had its back faced towards the camera? That's because we can't show any brand other than the clients' product in the video.
This is what it looked like on camera.
Playing around with the production crew. I always thought that only in TV would you see the clipp-y boards but we actually use them before every take.
Shots in between takes. In the video it looks like I'm putting hair rollers in my hair. In real life, I'm like "What's hair rollers?" and had to have the hairstylist put them on for me before cameras started to roll.
Berpura-pura ( In English: Faking it! )
After every take, the director would replay the take for me and tell me what he like or didn't like about it and then we would re-shoot until we got the perfect shot a couple of times (as safety).
And that is about as much as I can show you for now. The Dove commercial has started to air, so you might just see me before a Youtube video. Take a selfie with it and send it over to me! I'd love to see it!
