I met Tim and Andy from MHB during my time with Miss World Malaysia. They are extremely down to earth and easy going lads which is why I could not say no when they invited me and the other half to a tasting of the "Cava Noche Y Dia" sparkling wine and cocktails.
The tasting was held at Thirty8 in the Grand Hyatt Hotel, KL. I have always wanted to visit Thirty8 because I have heard wonderful things about it but never had the time. I'm sure glad that I went. The place was as beautiful and classy as it is portrayed in pictures.
Honestly, my pictures does not do it justice. You really have to go for yourself to see how nice it is there.
Thirty8 provides guest with a 360 degree city view from 38 storeys high . It has a restaurant, bar and lounge. Also, it has a great view of the twin towers. Unfortunately it was foggy the night we visited and most of my pictures came out like below. Nevertheless, Nathaniel and I made a promise to return for another date night This is where the post gets a little educational.
Cava is a Spanish sparkling wine . It may be white or rose and is an important part of Catalan and Spanish family traditions ,often consumed at celebrations like baptisms, marriages, banquets, dinners and parties. The world Cava means cave or cellar in Catalan. Caves were used in the early days of Cava production for the preservation or aging of wine, thus its name.
0 lovely comments ✿ For more information on Cava, check out the Wiki page here The Cava Noche Y Dia is a yellow label made out of 40% Macabeo, 40% Xarello and 20% Parellada grape varieties. I'm not one bit of a wine connoisseur but taste wise, I really did enjoy the Cava. I preferred having it on its own rather than prepared into cocktails, even though the menu did provide some interesting cocktail choices. It was easy to drink and reminded me of a fruity bubbly. It was light and fun . Okay, totally failing to introduce the product here. On the nose it has a full and fruity aroma. On the palate it is dry and has a long pleasant lasting finish. I sound so pro right? haha Actually I just copied what Tim said :P Nathaniel and I started with the Almendra Mousseux and the XOX cocktails The Almendra Mousseux is made up of Almond Flakes, Flangelico, bourbon, and cava. The XOX is made out of Blue curacao, mandarin infused vodka and cava. There was definitely some action going on in that glass. Before trying out the Cava Noche Y Dia on its own, Nathaniel and I shared our last glass of cocktail, the Kiwi Espumoso. It contains Fresh Kiwi juice, gin and Cava. Rather refreshing. There were two more cocktails that we were unable to try. Maybe you'll go soon and tell me how they taste? We were entertained by a live band that was amazing. It has been a while since I was serenaded by a good live band. Definitely returning. Thirty 8 bar is offering four unique Cava Noche Y Dia cocktails which are available from 12pm onwards daily at Rm30++ a glass. If you'd rather have the sparking wine on its own which I recommend, you may purchase a bottle of Cava Noche Y Dia at the promotional price of RM138++ per bottle. Bye and thanks for reading!
