Note of Caution: The post ahead is going to revolve around the blogger quite a lot. After 14 years of being MIA, I finally returned to a place I once called home for a good 1 and a half years. It felt so good to be welcomed by the same bellboy, who is now in charge of the front office (bravo!). He used to wait with me for Kindergarten (I car-pooled). In fact, I waited with him for the car at this exact spot! The Hotel has changed much after 14 years. The lobby is way classier now than it was before. It has a gigantic Christmas tree that was once a stage for the band to play during high-tea. The ballroom where I celebrated my 5th birthday is now a jewelery stall. at least now I can say "I celebrated my birthday at a jewelery store, What about you?" *lan si face* There childrens pool that I once pooped in (as a kid, I promise) causing dad to get a good sounding from his boss has now been joined with the adult pool to make an even bigger pool! Angelini, the Italian F&B outlet went through a massive renovation and has now transformed to some-sort of a fine dinning attraction. There were still a couple of things that remained unchanged. The fountain that I conveniently washed my hands in as a child The escalators that I used in the opposite direction until I fell one day and cried a river (to the delight of the hotel staff) The towel storage thing that I thought was a swing and tried to climb in (note: sounding by dad's boss round 2) And not to forget the amazing greenery that surrounded the hotel. I once plucked a whole flower pot full of leaves to "feed the fishes" There were many memories shared here. It felt so warm to be back.Definitely one of the highlights of our Thailand adventure! Isn't it great how something as simple as a building can bring you back so much memories? Love,
