If you are ever in Koh Samui, travel to Ban Tai (it's a road), and just as you reach Maenam you'll see this: a sign-poster 150metre long private driveway that is lit by 160 flaming torches :) what does it lead to? well, this.... But look at the other side and there it is, The Farmer. As soon as you enter, you will be greeted and escorted inside where the whole place opens up again to an open-kitchen on your left and a bar on your right with a small pond built right in the middle overlooking the padi field (that is lit up during the night) The Farmer is a food outlet specializing in Thai & International Cuisine that brings a whole new meaning to fusion. The owner/executie cheff, Khun Somroj Mepjern who was very nice to welcome us in at their non-operataing hours is an island native has had over 25 years of experience cooking for the best of the best. (Taling ngam resort , Dusit Tani) If not obvious enough, the Farmer is the only F&B outlet in the whole of Thailand to operate right n the middle of a Padi Field. If you can ignore the slight odor of (though *So, he popped the question.... oh in the middle of a Padi field!* doesn't sound very romantic). We weren't lucky enough to try their food though because the restaurant was booked for a dinner party that night. But i'm sure it would taste fantastic! So if you're ever around Koh Samui, don't forget to drop by and tell me how the food taste! Have a blessed Christmas :) Love, Sabrina Labels: critics, family, travel 2 lovely comments ✿ |
